MISSIO
Sharing Faith – Giving Life
Since 1922, Missio has been the Catholic Church’s official charity for overseas mission. They bring the hope of the Gospel where there is turmoil, poverty and uncertainty in the world, and where the Church is new, young or poor.
Missio empowers local people to form and sustain communities of faith and train and nurture future leaders so that the vital work of the Church in the world can take place.
To provide for the different needs of the overseas Church, Missio focuses on four main areas of provision:
On a parish level MISSIO have representatives who promote their work and collect on their behalf primarily through ‘red boxes’. The red box is taken home and filled with change before being returned to the representatives. Box holders are provided regular updates on the work of MISSION through a magazine.
Consider donating to MISSIO by having one of their red boxes in your home.
