OUR LADY AND ST PATRICK PARISH CHURCH MAESTEG
RE-OPENING FOR PRIVATE PRAYER – SUNDAY, 5TH JULY 2020
We have received the Health and Safety Certificate from the Archdiocese confirming that we have met all standards and issues; therefore our Church will re-open for private prayer on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from next Sunday, 5th July.
We thank our brothers Derek and Denis for accepting the leading role to work with
Mr. Chris Jones, the Health and Safety Officer to help us acquire the health and safety certificate to enable us to re-open the Church next Sunday.
Many thanks also to our volunteers who have offered to serve as Stewards and cleaners of the Church. They have given the Church a thorough cleaning and continue to work behind the scenes to enable us to re-open for private prayer.
Due to the serious nature of this pandemic a lot has been done in order to contain the spread of the Virus and to protect the health and safety of Parishioners. We are very grateful for the dedication and commitment of the volunteers. May our prayers and support be with them, that we may be able to have a safe church for our private prayers.
As only a limited number of people can be allowed in the church for a particular time, we have to book a slot to be able to enter for private prayers. May God richly bless you. Stay safe and remain in God’s love and care.
(AS NUMBERS WILL BE RESTRICTED TIME SLOTS WILL NEED TO BE BOOKED)
TO BOOK A SLOT, PLEASE CONTACT THE FOLLOWING:
TIMES AND DAYS OF OPENING:
SUNDAY OPENING 11 am to 1 pm – COLLETTE 07702023565
TUESDAY OPENING 11 am to 1 pm – DEREK OR DENIS 01656 731767(ANY AFTERNOON AFTER 2PM)
THURSDAY OPENING 10 am to 12 noon – COLLETTE 07702023565
Since it will not be possible to open both churches at the same time for private prayers, the focus currently is on opening Our Lady & St Patrick’s, and hopefully decide later on St Roberts. One of our challenges is that many of our regular volunteers are in one or other of the vulnerable groups, so we are looking for more volunteers from a wider group than usual to support re-opening.
We need more volunteers willing to supervise and implement the strict hygiene rules during private prayer times; however, you must be below the age of 70 and with no underlying health issues. If you are able to volunteer, please contact Fr. Edmund or any of the above with your name and contact details.
Attached Health and Safety Certificate.
