Roe v Wade decision
As you have probably seen in the media, on Friday 24 June, the US Supreme Court struck down the Roe v Wade decision, returning the matter of abortion legislation to individual states.
There has been much misinformation spread online about the implications of this decision. Lord Alton has published an excellent piece that sets out the key facts on the decision:
We really appreciate your prayers and support for our work and would be very grateful if you continue to include us in your prayers however you feel is most appropriate. We have written some suggested intentions that could be used over the coming month:
3rd – “We pray for our Government, that their ability to support pregnant women would increase and that they would anchor themselves on the desire to protect all human life. Lord hear us”
10th – “We pray for all considering abortion. We pray that the love and support of those around them would encourage the mother to continue with her pregnancy and find peace in what the future holds. Lord hear us”
17th – “We pray for all expectant mothers. We pray for an overwhelming sense of hope and joy to fill their lives, and for increased support to be given by their family, friends and local communities, as the journey through this life changing experience. Lord hear us
24th – “For all going through difficult pregnancies, we pray for an overwhelming sense of hope and joy to fill their lives, and for increased support to be given by their family, friends and local communities. Lord hear us”
31st – “We pray for all unborn children diagnosed with disabilities, we pray for protection for them and their mothers from the pressures of society to have an abortion, and that they would instead experience overwhelming support by all who surround them. Lord hear us”
